eCesde
eCesde is the marketplace of the educational institution CESDE, offering over 190 courses and diplomas for students and businesses, available in virtual, hybrid, and in-person formats.
Challenge
- Redesigning the marketplace for the educational institution CESDE, aiming to create a better user experience.
Solution
- A new product was designed from scratch, featuring a new information architecture that significantly improved the usability of the marketplace. Additionally, a design system was created to address consistency issues in visual elements.
Design system
One of the first challenges I faced in this project was the lack of consistency in visual elements. There were buttons of various colors and sizes, and different views of the marketplace lacked uniform visual elements, among other issues.
For this reason, I decided to propose and implement a design system to address all these consistency issues.
The design system was created in Figma using the pyramid structure of tokens: Global Tokens, System Tokens, and Component Tokens. This methodology ensures system scalability. The tokens were configured using the Token Studio tool. A total of 30 components were designed for this system, each with its respective variations.
Architecture & UI
The second major challenge of this project was improving usability. To achieve this, I designed a new sitemap to separate virtual courses and diplomas from in-person ones, which had been causing user experience conflicts. We also added filters within the course searches to make them more specific. A section dedicated to the value proposition for businesses was created. Lastly, and importantly, guidelines and a new look and feel for the internal views of the educational platform were developed.
Within the marketplace, we added more detailed course information to better encourage users when making their purchase decisions.
A total of 10 views were designed for the entire project.
